What to expect?

Our program in short:

Wednesday 18th September
After arrival and setting in we meet each other in the hostel Stayokay Bunnik, near the city of Utrecht. There is a warm welcome by the vSKBN and EFCF and an explanation of the program. We have dinner at the hostel followed by an informal get together.

Thursday 19th September
After breakfast the bus leaves for the Water Museum in Arnhem (www.watermuseum.nl). A real ‘hands on’ museum where you can learn everything about dyke management, drinking water, groundwater and water use in the Netherlands and the rest of the world.
There we will start the day with a few inspiring lectures, have lunch and afterwards explore the museum.
Then we will visit one of the city farms in Arnhem. Afterwards we return to the Stayokay or we can provide a drop-off in Utrecht city center. Free evening.

Friday 20st September
Today we visit three of Utrecht’s city farms. Each farm will provide an inspiring educational program. In the evening have dinner at Theehuis Rhijnauwen.

Saturday 21th September
Today we visit the Biesbosch Museum Eiland in Werkendam and we make a boat tour through the famous Biesbosch National Park, one of the last extensive freshwater tidal wetlands in Northwestern Europe. www.biesboschmuseumeiland.nl
In the afternoon we visit another inspiring cityfarm. After the visit we return to the Stayokay hostel. There we will have a great BBQ-diner and a party with live music!
